Pop Cashing On Crashing Television Morals

Pop culture has been the refraction of the images that sets a particular society and its whims and fantasies. It is not outright a reflection because some of it is truly diverged from its intended point of impact. Pop culture has today come to mean far different things from what it started to achieve. Yes, there is no doubt that pop culture was required in some way for gifting fantasy savvy masses their daily humor, but the way the entire culture is perpetrated or bombarded on the masses today seems like a slight to the moral police.

Television has had a lot to do with this kind of lobbying of the popular culture. There was never a harm in showing Madonna dish out from among her high quality music repertoire but today the music gears have reverted and the prime occupancy is sleaze and all the accessories that make music damp and pop hotter. Gone is the time when the Madonnas could mean singing and the Elton Johns could blow their candles all night.

It is a time of the present day divas who have assumed their righteous paths in cheap thrill derived promotions- those that sit hot on the eyes of the masses and give a zilch to the merit of the product. Television channels day in and day out propagate this kind of stuff. It may be an incumbent need to gather higher TRP's or the focus on creating a new pseudo-culture that thrives on nonsensical no-substance visual pell-mell.

News channels have a fight on their hands. They have to be viewed by and large and this is only made sure if they run prime times. How is this to be made possible in a de-glamorized world? How is this to be achieved through no-sensation news? How is this to be made the leitmotif of the channel ethic? To these news channels of today, guided by reverted moral ethics, the desire to beat the heat is through generating meat and meaty stories. If this means broadcasting a new type of pop culture, so be it. After all, it's quite a symbiosis. The channels derive their flesh of news and otherwise from the popular culture while the culture derives its reason for existence from it. For being on the prime slot, an even higher TRP is required or else oblivion corners the route of the channels.

To counter this issue, they repeat the same footage, often meaningless, to the masses. They cover it with captions that are outrageous to senses; they try to induce a new meaning to the entire event. The connotation is more like interpreting poems of past masters. The critics give any kind of interpretations. Similarly, the acts of popular artists get any interpretation in the ambushed forts of channels.

However, it may be poised, one thing is for sure and it is there to stay. We might get culturally uprooted by the culture, but pop culture would stay and so would the urgent need of the television channels to cover them and run their show.
